2015 marks the 12th year anniversary of Tommy Wiseau’s The Room, which, according to Entertainment Weekly, is the “Citizen Kane of bad movies.” The Daviess County Public Library and Theater Workshop of Owensboro invite you to celebrate this monumental occasion with a screening of the film and visit from one of its stars, Greg Sestero.
Sestero co-authored (with Tom Bissell) a wonderful book entitled The Disaster Artist: My Life Inside the Room, The Greatest Bad Movie Ever Made. The tome chronicles how the film was made (things get weird, trust me) and Sestero’s friendship with its eccentric director, Tommy Wiseau. Seth Rogen and James Franco are currently adapting this intriguing tale into a film from a script by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber (The Fault in Our Stars, (500) Days of Summer). Sestero will address the crowd after the screening, conduct a Q&A session, and invite a few audience members on stage to act out scenes from the film with him. He’ll have copies of the book for sale & will stick around for a meet & greet after the event.
This can’t-miss event will happen at TWO’s Trinity Theater on Thursday, August 6. We’ll begin the film at 7:00 PM. This will be a traditional screening of the film with all the usual audience participation rituals. Details on those may be found here: http://
