It’s been a long year. In fact, it’s been a long year and a half! As the world has struggled to find ways to push ahead and do what they do amid an unprecedented health crisis, theatre has become more creative than ever before. Theatre Workshop of Owensboro has made shows available online, performed in cubicles on stage, utilized outdoor spaces, and made a safety upgrade to our HVAC systems in both facilities. Now…WE’RE BACK! We are fast approaching a new season of more traditional presentation, while strictly adhering to health and safety guidelines. But first…another outdoor, socially distant, “fun in the sun” production. And it’s FREE!
Our friend Jordan Blake Key will stage the popular musical, YOU’RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN July 17-August 1. Charles Schulz’ classic comic strip characters come to life with heartwarming songs such as “Happiness”, “My Blanket and Me”, and Snoopy’s rousing “Suppertime”! This youth production is

Soon after Charlie Brown flies that kite, the popular tradition, SUMMER SHORTS will return! A collection of six original one-act plays make their WORLD PREMIERE July 30-August 8 at THE EMPRESS THEATER, on Fourth and Frederica. The staff, Board of Directors and volunteers at Theatre Workshop of Owensboro are thrilled to be back! More than that, it is wonderful to be reunited with local theatre goers and our friends and neighbors. We have all worked together to get through a difficult and frightening time.
